Online Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Direct Deposit Enrollment

With direct deposit, you'll get faster access to your money. Funds will be deposited directly into your account securely and reliably. You do not need to call or visit your local branch or stop by an ATM to deposit a cheque. Sign up now to receive your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) payments via direct deposit, including:

  1. Canada Recovery Benefit

  2. Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit

CRA Direct Deposit Eligibility Requirements

  1. Eligible: TD Personal Canadian Dollar Chequing and Savings accounts.

  2. Non-Eligible: USD Chequing, Registered, TFSA, Line of Credit, Home Equity Line of Credit, and Student Line of Credit.

  3. Account must have been opened for more than 90 days to be eligible for this Online service. Account opened for between 30 and 90 days can still sign up for CRA direct deposit via TD Contact Centre.

  4. You must have a valid SIN and Date of Birth on file with TD.

  5. You must have filed at least one income tax return with CRA to be eligible

  6. Please have your Account Number and Branch Number ready. Learn more

EasyWeb

  • Log into EasyWeb to see a summary of your accounts.
  • Locate the account you wish to receive your payments in. Beside the account name, find your Branch # (up to 4 digits) and Account # (up to 7 digits).

TD App

  • Log into the TD app, navigate to My Accounts.
  • Tap the account you wish to receive your payments in, select Summary.
  • Select Direct Deposit Information.
  • Your Branch # is the first 4 digits of the Transit # field.
  • You can find your Account # in the Account field (up to 7 digits).

Things to Consider

  1. If you already have direct deposit set up with CRA, you don’t need to re-enroll. Can’t remember whether you have CRA direct deposit set up? Confirm by contacting the CRA directly.

  2. You can also use this enrollment service to update or change your existing direct deposit information with the CRA.

  3. Service Canada payments like CPP, OAS and EI are excluded from this service.

  4. You may receive cheques in the mail if they have been processed before CRA has completed your direct deposit enrollment.

Learn more about Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB)

This new benefit can provide income support to post-secondary students who experience financial hardship over the summer due to COVID-19.


For post-secondary students and recent graduates who will experience financial hardship over the Summer due to COVID-19 and are ineligible for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit or for Employment Insurance, the government proposes to introduce the Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB). 

The CESB would provide:

  • $1,250 per month for eligible students from May through August 2020,
  • $2,000 per month from May through August 2020 for eligible students with dependents 
  • $2,000 per month from May through August 2020 for eligible students with permanent disabilities

The CESB will be delivered by the CRA. Visit the CRA's website to apply when the new program officially launches (May 15, 2020).

Learn more about Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)

If you have lost income because of COVID-19, the CERB will provide you with temporary income support.    


  • You have lost or will lose your employment income or self employment income for at least 14 consecutive days of the four-week period for which you are applying
  • You are 15 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • You are a resident of Canada.
  • You are not receiving nor have you applied for EI regular or sickness benefits.
  • You have not quit your job voluntarily.
  • You have earned a minimum of $5,000 income in Canada within the last 12 months or in the 2019 tax year from one or more of the following sources:
  1. Employment income
  2. Self-employment income
  3. Provincial benefit payments related to maternity or parental leave
  4. Federal benefit payments related to maternity or parental leave

Eligibility periods:

  • The maximum entitlement is a total of 16 weeks
  • Eligibility periods are fixed in four-week periods
