Our long-standing history of support
TD has a long-standing commitment to the 2SLGBTQ+ community. We are committed to helping drive positive change and help build an inclusive future for all.
- In 1994, TD became North America’s first bank to provide same-sex spousal benefits.
- In 2005, TD became the first major bank in Canada to support a Pride festival and was the first major corporate sponsor of Pride.
- TD was the first Canadian financial institution to profile same-sex couples in mainstream advertising.
- In 2019, TD became one of Canada’s first organizations to offer gender affirmation benefits for transgender colleagues.
- In 2022 we enhanced family planning benefits to include fertility & reproductive treatment, surrogacy and donor & adoption costs.
