Asking for a friend: Decoding card security
If you're concerned about fraud, here are three ways to help you shop online securely.
Get fraud alerts
With TD Fraud Alerts, if we detect a possible suspicious transaction on your or your Additional Cardholder's credit card, and we have your current mobile phone number on file, we'll send you a text message. If you recognize the transaction then all you need to do is reply Y to the text. But if you don't recognize the transaction, then reply N and we'll respond with instructions to call us and we'll investigate that transaction.
Lock or unlock your credit card with the TD app
Feel more confident if you temporarily misplace your credit card by locking your card using the TD app. Locking your card means you can't use it to make any new purchases or pay using your digital wallet. When locked, pre-authorized payments will still go through, credit card payments will still be accepted, and you can make transfers.
Set transaction limits
As the Primary Cardholder you can set transaction limits for you and each Additional Cardholder on your account – if any. This feature can help you to stay within your budget as well as keep track of purchases made by any Additional Cardholders on your account.
