3B organizations meaning Black-led, Black-serving and Black-focused play a huge role in the social service sector, because they understand the complexities and the diversity that is the Black community. That’s why we partner with them to help them grow.
Hi, my name is Agapi Gessesse, and I’m the Executive Director at CEE Centre For Young Black Professionals.
Agapi Gessesse,
Executive Director, CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals
When the pandemic hit, we were able to see how drastically Black organizations in the social service sector were affected by crisis. So we worked with the Network for the Advancement of Black Communities to create the Recovery, Healing & Resilience Program. It helps these organizations get funding, build their capacity, and offer culturally relevant information. Organizations like Afropolitan Canada.
Kelly De Fogain
Founder/Executive Director, Afropolitan Canada
At Afropolitan Canada, we support young Black professionals, especially newcomers. We offer workshops on financial literacy, trades, coding and public speaking.
Being part of CEE’s Recovery, Healing & Resilience Program has not only helped us make our workshops more tailored to the cultural backgrounds of our participants, it has also helped us create a mental health awareness campaign for Black communities by integrating African cultures and values.
CEE is helping 150 Black organizations in the social service sector
With its Recovery, Healing & Resilience Program
And we’re proud to support this program through the TD Ready Commitment.
